AFTER raising more than £6,000 for Cancer Research last year, a Stourbridge events company hoped their efforts this year would go off with a bang.
In their quest for funds, staff at Broome-based business Top Banana put on a bonfire and fireworks event at their headquarters.
Alongside the fireworks, the firm got together with some of its global clients to produce an online auction to raise further funds for the charity.
Clients, suppliers and friends of the events company generously donated prizes which were then placed for bidding online.
Richard Bridge, company director, said: “Cancer has touched so many of us at Top Banana, we wanted to raise funds for this worthy cause again this year and our previous bonfire events have been really successful.”
The total funds raised from the company’s recent events so far this year stand at £6,300, which means Top Banana have raised just over £17,000 in total for Cancer Research.
Nick Terry, managing director, added: “It’s great to see so many people come to our offices and join in the fun whilst raising money for such a good cause.
“We’re really grateful for everyone’s support.”
