A JEREMY Kyle Show-loving Stourbridge pensioner had the treat of a lifetime when she got the chance to meet the star host.

Kathleen Byrne is such a die-hard fan of the daily ITV talk show that she refuses to let any of the staff at Tudor Manor Care Home – where she has been a resident for the past 14 years – do anything with her until the show has finished.

Nischa Pritchard, care manager at Tudor Manor Care Home, said: “Kath didn’t really do a lot until I came here about three years ago, but she had an interest about going out and doing more things.

“The one thing she always does is watch Jeremy Kyle. You cannot do anything with her in the morning until she has finished watching the show and as soon as it’s over she will fill us all in about what has happened.

“As she was such a big fan, I emailed the show and told them all about Kath, how much she loves the show and how she doesn’t move from in front of the TV until it’s finished.

“They sorted out for Kath and three of our carers to go up to Manchester and be in the audience.”

As well as being in the audience, the 83-year-old super fan got an even bigger treat when she came face to face with the show’s host.

Kathleen said: “Getting to meet Jeremy made me really happy. He gave me a hug and a kiss and told me that if he was ever this way he would come into the home and see me again.

“I really enjoyed the day. I loved getting to see the show being filmed and meeting Jeremy, although there was too much swearing in it.

“Every time someone swore I would tell them off, but the girls told me I had to be quiet as they were filming!”
