KINGSWINFORD and Stourbridge Lions raised £1,000 for Amblecote tot Calla-Rose Cadman from the proceeds of their best-ever Easter raffle.

Members opted to donate money raised from this year’s raffle to help the youngster who has a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndome.

Tickets were sold in Stourbridge’s Ryemarket shopping centre and Calla-Rose’s mum and dad Nicki and Lee Cadman made the draw at Barnett Hill Garden Centre on March 19, when the top prize handmade chocolate bunny was won by Ron Smith from Stourbridge.

Lions spokesman Karen Rice said: “The club wishes to thank everyone that took part and made this one of their best Easter raffles in years.”

Calla's family and fundraisers have been trying to raise money to buy lifesaving equipment which can monitor the tot's oxygen levels in the blood and highlight a sudden drop in heart rate if night or silent seizures occur.
