STOURBRIDGE shoppers will be waking up and smelling the coffee brewing in the old Dorothy Perkins outlet where coffee shop chain Coffee#1 is opening a new store.
The new coffee shop, which fronts Fountain Square, is set to open at 11am until 5pm today (Thursday May 5) - its first day of trading in the town.
Ryemarket shopping centre manager Kelley Dyas says seeing the empty former Dorothy Perkins unit transformed and given a new lease of life will be another boost to the centre and the town.
It has also generated about eight new full-time and part-time jobs.
Area manager, Amy Sullivan, said: “We are thrilled to be opening in The Ryemarket shopping centre, it’s a great location and I am sure Coffee#1 will fit right in.
"We are looking forward to getting to know our new neighbours and some friendly local faces too."
Coffee#1 opened its first store in Cardiff in 2001 and has since opened nearly 50 coffee shops across Wales, the South West and the South coast, picking up two Beverage Standards Association awards along the way and winning the title of ‘Best UK Coffee Chain’ for the past five years.
