PAST pupils are being invited to a reunion by a Stourbridge school as it wants to reconnect its old alumni this September.

Elmfield School is opening its doors to former students at a special event later this year, and is on the hunt for pupils who might have lost touch.

The reunion will take place on September 10, and it is hoped many past students will attend the event as it will enable one young person in Stourbridge to receive the “renowned, creative Waldorf curriculum”.

The independent school commits to offering a place to one child per year who find themselves in financial hardship and cannot afford to pay to the school fees – which the reunion will help to fund.

A spokesperson said: “It is so important that the reunion committee are endeavouring to raise additional sponsorship during the September event to add to this fund and help with another young person’s education in Stourbridge.”

The school, which follows its own curriculum, has undergone many changes since it opened its doors in 1934, first in Selly Oak, and then at its current premises of Park Hill, in Love Lane, after the war in 1945.

The neighbouring home was purchased in 1962 to extend the school, allowing more pupils to join, before extra additions and modifications over the years has brought the school to its present size.
