A CHARITY fashion show held at Blakelands Country House near Stourbridge has more than exceeded its fundraising target.

The recent event, in aid of local children’s charity Promise Dreams, whose aim is to make dreams come true for seriously ill children across the UK, attracted 116 people and raised a staggering £3,580.

The aim of the event was to raise money to buy young girl, Eilidh Macfarlane, who is just seven years old and suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a Snapdragon power chair.

Tricia Ward-Jones, organiser of the event said: “We were thrilled to hear that we will be able to fulfil Eilidh’s dream and want to thank everyone who attended and supported the event.

“A special thank you must go to Ladies fashion boutique, Aristocats, who put on the fashion show and to Blakelands Country House, who provided us with a delicious afternoon tea and a fantastic venue.”

Paul Morgan, owner of Blakelands Country House, said: “We think the charity Promise Dreams do a fantastic job and we’ve had a relationship with them for a number of years now.

“They are passionate about raising money for seriously ill children and we are always happy to help.”
