STOURBRIDGE’S War Memorial Ground was broken into overnight on Monday (August 1), with thieves taking bottles of spirits from the club’s bar.

West Midlands Police was called to Stourbridge FC’s ground at 9am on Tuesday morning when the burglary was first discovered.

Officers who attended the scene found that offenders had gained access into the club through a window before making off with the stolen alcohol.

Damage was also caused to doors and shutters during the overnight break-in.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We have carried out forensic examinations, but enquiries are still ongoing.”
