A WOLLASTON family-fun gym has celebrated Team GBs success in the Rio Olympics by painting a new wall mural.

About 20 members of The Fitness Factory, based in Bradley Road, have repainted their aerobics room wall to mark the brilliant British performances in Brazil.

The wall was first painted in 2012 when manager Gemma Calvert decided that their blank, white wall could do with being spruced up.

So members set about creating a mural to the 2012 games in London and, as it was such a hit, they have decided to do it again for Rio 2016.

Gemma, who designed the new artwork with 11-year-old member Caitlin Whelan, said: “This year, the artwork combines the carnival atmosphere of Brazil, celebrates Team GB and includes motivational quotes from famous athletes.

“It has proven a big hit with the gym members who are enjoying the bright and colourful designs – some of which even glow in the dark.”

Team GB are on course to make the Rio games their most successful summer Olympics away from home soil ever as they chase their Beijing 2008 total of 47 medals.
