Stourbridge Probus Club

The club met on November 15 at 12.30 at Hagley Golf and Country Club and were made very welcome with an excellent meal. There were 33 members present.

The speaker was Geof Tristram, local artist. He said that even from the age of 4 he wanted to be an artist and he is now a very successful one. He told amusing stories of incidents that had happened to him through his work. He designed the stamps to commemorate Charles and Diana's wedding and another claim to fame was that he designed the Chocolate Orange wrapper. He also writes books and designs jigsaws and cards. He had a selection available to buy. He illustrated his talk with on screen photos of his work.

A very interesting and amusing speaker.

The club meets on the third Tuesday of the month. After lunch there is normally a speaker and several outings are arranged each year. In February, it is a 2 day coach tour to the Cotswolds and in May an evening visit for a meal at Halesowen College.

If any ladies or gentlemen are interested to come as a visitor or would like to be a member, contact the secretary Pat Grainger on 01384 394442.

Next month will be the Christmas meal followed by a quiz organised by Jack Hadlington on December 13.
