DINERS in Stourbridge will be excited to hear that Blakelands Country House will be launching its new-look restaurant in January.

The Lodge Restaurant, which opened in 1992, is being completely refurbished into a new contemporary design, as well as having new a la carte menus.

Located in a former hay barn and cart store, the Halfpenny Green restaurant gives customers views across the open countryside, with a separate bar and lounge area that also spills out into the gardens during the summer months.

Customers visiting the restaurant will also be able to taste a variety of local produce, plus a range of British wines, ales and spirits.

Heather Morgan, owner, said: “We pride ourselves in using local, seasonal, produce on our menu wherever possible and are lucky enough to have some fantastic local producers within a very close radius.

“We even have one of the largest vineyards in England right on our doorstep at Halfpenny Green, who make award-winning English wines, as well as microbreweries such as Enville Ales just a short drive away.

“Our chefs are constantly striving to produce fantastic food for our customers and with the new decor and menus, we hope to give people an experience they will never forget.”

The restaurant is open for bookings every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, as well as Sunday lunch times. The new menus can be viewed online at www.blakelands.com
