DUDLEY’S mayor is inviting people to take part in his charity Winter Walk this January.
Anyone can join in Cllr Mohammed Hanif’s walk – on Sunday January 22 – which will start and finish at the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge and taking in a seven mile route to and from the Prestwood area along the canal.
Cllr Hanif, the Mayor of Dudley, said: “After the Christmas festivities and over-indulgence lots of people start the new year with renewed enthusiasm to get fitter and slimmer.
“I hope that people will come on the sponsored walk to help kick start their fitness campaigns and meanwhile help raise money for three worthy charities.”
All profits from the walk will be donated to the Mayor of Dudley’s charities, which this year are Friends of Alfie Johnson, Dudley CIL and Diabetes UK Dudley branch.
People can register for the walk – costing £1 entry – and get a sponsorship form by emailing Sue on suzylimesrdc@hotmail.co.uk or by calling 07412 531924.
