WEEKLY street markets are set to start in Stourbridge this month and organisers hope shoppers will fall in love with them.

LSD Promotions is bringing a new food and craft market to town every Saturday - starting on Saturday February 11.

Themed 'From Stourbridge with Love' - the first event will have a Valentine's theme and will see pop-up canopy stalls selling an array of keepsakes and romantic treats for loved-up shoppers.

Stourbridge News:

Linda McGillicuddy, director of LSD Promotions, has high hopes for the weekly markets which will be held every Saturday by the town clock in Crown Square, at the junction of Coventry Street and Lower High Street, and she said: "It is general opinion that good regular markets are vital to town centre regeneration, and in our experience it is all about continuity and location as well as the quality of the stalls.

"This one will be situated in the heart of the town centre every Saturday.

"We believe it will compliment the existing cafés, shops, and businesses, building a strong regular customer base and draw people that may not normally shop in Stourbridge."

She said the markets will offer "on trend designs, family friendly ideas, pocket money buys, something for vintage lovers, essentials, treats, dazzling gifts, local produce, good food, must haves, great deals and fabulous choice" and she added: "The aim of the new market is to embrace, enhance, and compliment the town, help increase footfall and create greater community spirit, and attract visitors and shoppers from outlying areas so everyone benefits from the ambience and prosperity the market will generate."
