NATURE writer Matt Merritt will stopping off at Stourbridge Library next month to talk about his latest work which documents his travels around Britain searching for great bird life spectacles.

Matt, editor of Bird Watching magazine and author of A Sky Full of Birds, will be giving a talk about his latest book at the library in the Crown Centre on Wednesday March 1.

Councillor Rachel Harris, Dudley's cabinet member for libraries, said: “With Spring and the bird nesting season just around the corner this is a great time for poet and nature writer Matt Merritt to take us on a journey to some of the great bird gatherings that occur around the British Isles, from ravens in Anglesey and birds of prey on the Wirral, to nightingales in Kent and grouse in Scotland.”

Matt, whose books are available to borrow at Dudley libraries, is also an accomplished poet with two collections of poetry, The Elephant Tests, and Hydrodaktulopsychicharmonica, both published in the West Midlands by Nine Arches Press.

The talk at the library starts at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £3 including refreshments.
