AN art exhibition, sale and silent auction is hoping to bring in the funds for mental health charity Mind.

Taking place at Stourbridge High Street venue Scary Canary, the 'Mind of Art' event will also include live music and a raffle, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

Work from local artists Kirk Andrews and Jvb Art are set to be sold off, while a limited edition piece by contemporary artist Stuart Semple, who has exhibited worldwide and is an ambassador for Mind, will also hope to raise money for the cause.

Organisers of the event, which will start at 6pm on Thursday, March 9, are now on the hunt for other local artists and musicians who can donate their work and time.

Emily Smith, co-organiser, said: “We are looking for art donations from local artists, whether it be a poem, prose, painting, print or picture to be sold and auctioned off on the night, as well as musicians and singers to perform.”

Mind, which relies solely on donations and charity work to fund its work, helps anyone suffering with a mental health illness, either large or small, and provides them with access to advice, support and information.
