Stourbridge Probus Club

The club met on February 21 at 12.30pm at Hagley Golf and Country Club and were made very welcome with an excellent meal.

There were only 29 members present and three guests.

The secretary said how much they had enjoyed the previous weekend in the Cotswolds organised by Jo Pike.

The speaker was Mike Sampson who spoke about the life of Norman Wisdom from his childhood right up till when he died he himself was an avid fan and met Norman Wisdom several times. He had books, videos and many newspaper cuttings on show.

Tom Thompson gave a vote of thanks for a very interesting and knowledgeable speech.

The club meets on the third Tuesday of the month. After lunch there is normally a speaker and several outings are arranged each year. The next outing is in May an evening visit for a meal at Halesowen College.

The next meeting is on March 21 and the speaker will be David Berry talking about humour in retirement.
