NATIONAL Apprenticeship Week is being celebrated in Stourbridge next week as the town hosts an apprenticeship fair.
Barnardo’s Midlands On-Track Programme and Stourbridge Jobcentre have come together to host the event from 10am until 1pm on Tuesday (March 7) at St Thomas’s Community Hall, in Market Street.
The aim of the Stourbridge fair, which will be attended by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Mohammed Hanif, is for local young unemployed people, aged 18 to 24, to speak to employers who offer apprenticeships as a route to a career in a range of sectors.
Providers who will be attending the event include Bmet, Slic Training, Apprenticeship connect, Skills Training UK, NHS, Carillion, National Careers Service, NCS, EJF Partnerships Ltd.

The Barnardo’s Midlands On-Track Programme, which is funded by Santander Bank, is an employability support and mentoring scheme for 16 to 24-years-olds.
Since September 2016, the initiative has delivered a range of quality employability support and career guidance to unemployed young people across the West Midlands.
