WHO says there's no such thing as a free lunch?
A kind-hearted Stourbridge café owner has been doing his bit this week to ensure kids don’t go hungry during half term.
Abdul Qadus, who runs the Station Café in Vauxhall Road, has been offering free lunch to school-aged children who are entitled to free school meals or whose parents are on benefits.
He told the News: “There are a lot of deprived people out there – I didn’t want children to be going hungry during the school holidays.”
The former Lye councillor said children, whose parents can provide proof of benefits, can tuck into a free bite to eat such as a sandwich, pasta or sausages and chips between 10am and 4pm each day this week.
