BLACK Country thespians are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside X-Factor star Wagner Carrilho.

The Dudley-based singer, who finished sixth in the ITV talent show back in 2010, will star as The Wizard in Mary Stevens Hospice's pantomime performance of The Wizard of Oz.

Now members of the public are being invited to fill in the other roles for the show, which will take place at Brierley Hill Civic Hall in January 2018.

Parts available in the first round of auditions, which are being held on at 6.30pm on Wednesday, June 21, at Stourbridge Institute, are those of Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch and the lead male role ‘Harry Trotter’.

Although on-the-night registrations will be accepted, the Hagley Road hospice are urging as many people as possible to sign-up online beforehand.

Amanda Bowen, deputy head of fundraising, said: “Our community do so much incredible work for the families we support, and we always try to give back at every opportunity.

“It was a bit of a no-brainer as to whether or not we opened the panto up for public auditions, and we can’t wait to see our supporters tread the boards.

“We’re also incredibly grateful to the Stourbridge Institute for allowing us to use their fantastic space as we uncover the best undiscovered talent our local area has to offer.”
