PRETTY little misses turned out in force for the annual Stourbridge Carnival Princess competition.

The event kicked off the annual family-fun day which was held in the town centre yesterday (Sunday July 2).

Youngsters aged from five to ten turned out early in their best dresses for a chance to win the coveted Carnival Princess and Rosebud titles.

But it was determined Peter's Hill Primary School pupil Lily Perry, aged ten, from Amblecote, (pictured below left) who walked away with the Princess crown.

Her proud mum Samantha Payne was overjoyed as the results were announced and she told the News it had been the flame-haired schoolgirl's final shot at winning the competition which she has entered for the last six years.

She said: “I’m really happy.”

Seven-year-old Kasie Burns, from Wollaston, (pictured above) walked away with the runner-up prize and all entrants in both the Princess and Rosebud categories received a goody bag.

Meanwhile - Amblecote Primary School youngster Lacey Troman, aged five, from Wordsley, (pictured below - front left) was victorious in the Rosebud section after going home with second prize last year.

Her delighted mum Hannah Troman said: “I’m really proud and it’s been really good for her – she’s really come out of her shell.”

Six-year-old book fan Hollie Willetts, aged six, from Wordsley, (pictured below - front right) was named runner-up.
