THE Black Country's Dancing Grannies brought a Spanish flavour to Stourbridge Carnival yesterday (Sunday July 2) with a new Flamenco routine.

The Grannies, the brainchild of The Fizzogs comedy group, achieved world-wide fame after a video of them performing at the carnival three years ago went viral, attracting millions of views from all corners of the globe.

They returned to Stourbridge on Sunday as Las Abuelas Bailadoras (Spanish for the Dancing Grannies) after being encouraged to do so by Fizzog Deb Nicholls's Spanish boyfriend Alberto Urra.

Deb said: "It was something different to try and seemed to go down well with the crowds.

"Hopefully it will create the same sort of attention as the video did three years ago. Alberto didn't seem to have any complaints so it must have been pretty authentic."

The Fizzogs will be performing in a different guise later this month when their "Black Country Fairytale, Ay it" continues its tour.

Tickets are available online at thefizzogs.com website for shows at the Theatre on the Steps in Bridgnorth on July 15, the Gatehouse Theatre on July 21 and Netherton Arts Centre on July 22.
