Stourbridge Probus Club
The club met on June 20 at Hagley Golf and Country Club. There were only 25 members and 2 visitors present. The visitors decided at the end of the meeting to join and were welcomed by the club.
Barbara Smith, the outgoing president, presented the collar of office to the new president Bob Grainger.
The speaker was Hannah Malloy who gave an interesting and lively speech on medical detection dogs and bought her own dog with her.
The dogs are taught to detect cancer, diabetes type 1 and other diseases at an early stage and can save lives.
The next meeting is on July 18 and the speaker will be John Butterworth speaking about hitting the headlines as a newspaper editor.
If anyone would like to join the club or come as a visitor, contact the secretary Pat Grainger on 01384 394442.
