BLACK Country politicians stopped off to deliver season's greetings to the borough's busy postmen and women working to ensure cards and presents are delivered in time for Christmas.

Stourbridge MP Margot stopped by the Stourbridge Delivery Office to meet dedicated Royal Mail workers while Dudley South MP Mike Wood made an early morning visit to the Kingswinford Sorting Office.

Both praised the commitment of the teams who have been striving to deliver a first class festive service at the Royal Mail's busiest time of year.

Ms James, who is the government's Postal Affairs Minister, said: “At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period. There is a huge amount of effort and dedication that goes into delivering a first class Christmas.

“It was great to meet the team at Stourbridge and thank them for the extraordinary lengths they go to ensure Christmas cards and presents are delivered to loved ones on time, and for all they do year-round.”

"We are grateful that Margot visited the office to see our operation and to support the team."

Meanwhile fellow Conservative MP Mr Wood stopped off to see the Christmas mail operation in Kingswinford.

He spent the morning talking to Royal Mail staff about the logistical challenges of the job and thanked them for keeping Kingswinford’s letters and parcels moving during the recent snowy conditions and throughout the year.
