A STOURBRIDGE fundraiser, who has raised cash and provisions for homeless people around the Black Country, is staging what she hopes will be an egg-cellent Easter charity event.

Vi Wood, who set up Leslie’s Care Packages in memory of her late husband, is inviting families to St Thomas’s Church in Market Street, Stourbridge, for a fun-filled day on Saturday March 31.

The event, running from 10am to 4pm, include stalls, cartoon mascots and a raffle featuring prizes donated by town businesses. There will also be an Easter egg hunt from 2pm for youngsters.

Admission is free but the egg hunt will cost £1 to enter.

Charity helper Deb Nicholls, of comedy group The Fizzogs, said: “Vi is a wonderful lady who has done so much for the homeless. We hope lots of people will be able to attend to raise some funds and learn more about Vi’s amazing work.”
