COUNCIL workers will be giving Kinver villagers the blues to take some of the hassle out of refuse recycling.

South Staffordshire Council have been dishing out new blue recycling bins to people in Kinver and Stourton to replace the green box and white sack system currently in operation.

The change, which will take effect from Monday April 1, means residents will no longer be asked to separate their recycling.

Cllr Brian Edwards, Leader of South Staffordshire Council said: “The new bins will be so much more convenient than the old green box and white sack system. It will mean people can recycle much more and I’m delighted that we can offer this improved service to our residents."

South Staffordshire Council has spent £900,000 on the new bins in its bid to recycle more than half the domestic waste it handles each year.
