A WALL Heath woman got on her bike to raise money for a charity that helps people with heart problems to get back on their feet.

Kim Babb was among thousands of cyclists completing the Prudential Ride London on August 4.

The executive director at Business Skills at Stourbridge College (now part of Birmingham Metropolitan College) pedalled the 100 miles from London to Surrey in six hours 50 minutes.

She said: “The ride started in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and then followed a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey's stunning countryside.”

To date, Mrs Babb has raised £250 for Action Heart, based at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, a charity she has supported since 1999.

But its work has become more poignant to her following the death of colleague Alex Speed who died suddenly due to a heart problem last year.
