A 29-YEAR-OLD Wall Heath man found to have £4,000 worth of drugs stashed away after he was pulled over by police for speeding has been jailed for three years.

The cocaine was discovered when officers searched Adam Wrench's Enville Road home together with a stun gun - a prohibited weapon.

Wrench was stopped by patrolling police officers when they saw him overtake other vehicles at speed in the High Street at Kingswinford - Mark Rees, prosecuting, said.

He told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Wrench did not have a licence or any insurance and when he was searched at Brierley Hill Police Station he was found to be carrying a small amount of cocaine.

Then when police went to his home they recovered a much larger amount of the controlled drug, said Mr Rees, with all the cocaine having a street value of more than £4,000, The officers also found the stun gun, a small amount of cannabis, an envelope containing £1,685 in cash and a cutting agent used to break down the cocaine.

Wrench admitted two charges of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply. He also admitted possessing cannabis, the gun and driving without insurance or a licence.

Jonathan Barker, defending, said Wrench was a cocaine user having taken up the drug four or five years ago.

Judge Mark Eades told him the offences were far too serious for anything other than a substantial prison sentence.
