The monthly meeting held on October 7 welcomed Derek Higgot as the speaker for the evening.

Derek came from Shrug borough and gave a very interesting talk and demonstration on ‘Proper Pruning Practice’.

He brought along specimens for demonstration and gave a very well explained talk and demonstration interspersed with humor and great expert knowledge.

Derek has worked at Shrug borough since the age of 16.

A very good presentation of ideas for members to take away with them.

He opens his own Secret Garden at times which is linked in with The National Garden scheme.

The annual Wall Heath Show was held on September 13 was a great success bringing in many more exhibitors and crowds of people, who came for a wonderful afternoon out for no cost.

The great well known show is put on each year by the Wall Heath Flower Club and The Wall Heath Horticultural Guild.

We thank all those local traders who supply generous raffle prizes and all the help and support we get from The Wall Heath clubs in general.

Exceptionally the home made cakes for refreshments and afternoon tea on the day. Many thanks to the ladies of the flower club for their contributions.

The presentation of the Annual Show Awards will be held on Tuesday November 4th.
