POPULAR Wall Heath restaurant Alam International is pulling out all the stops to support football club Kewford Eagles by offering to stage two charity curry evenings later this month.

Money raised from both evenings will go towards paying for the cost of a defibrillator which the club is eager to obtain for its Eagle Park ground in Swindon Road.

Tickets, priced £5, are available for the curry evenings which will take place on Monday January 26 and Tuesday January 27 at the restaurant's Albion Parade premises.

It's not the first time Alam International has supported Kewford Eagles.

A previous charity event raised £1,600 to help towards the development of Eagle Park.

Lynn Boleyn, charity trustee of Kewford Eagles, said: "We are extremely grateful to Joe Uddin and Alan Emery at The Alam for their generosity in giving something back to the community.

"The defibrillator is something I hope we never have to use but will help safeguard players and spectators alike.

"It will also be a vital piece of lifesaving equipment that will be available to the wider community as well.

"There have been a number of incidents recently where a defibrillator has been required and it's something the Football Association is keen to support."
