GREEN-fingered Wall Heath residents were able to show off their prize winning produce and flowers at the area’s 69th annual show.

Once again members of the Wall Heath Horticultural Guild joined forces with Wall Heath Flower Club to stage the yearly event, which was described as “the best show of produce for a very long time”.

In addition to all the traditional flowers and produce which were exhibited, a watercolour art display also took place.

Dudley South MP Mike Wood attended the event and spent time chatting to many of the exhibitors who had taken their produce to the show to be judged.

Among those Mr Wood congratulated was local resident Dennis Turner, who won several first place prizes for his award winning leeks, onions and other vegetables.

Mr Wood said: “According to many there it was the best show of produce for a very long time.

“I was impressed by the efforts of many of the people who contributed to the show, in particular Mr Turner who has been exhibiting at the show for many years.

“Next year is the 70th show for the guild and that is a fantastic milestone for which all involved in the Wall Heath Horticultural Guild should be congratulated.”
