Wall Heath Horticultural Guild

The speaker on April 5was Malcolm Dickson.

He began to grow and show herbs for a hobby in 1992, visiting shows and exhibiting in a minor form and then becoming more entrenched into the hobby, he decided to use his four acres of land more usefully by growing herbs commercially.

Malcolm is very well known in Main Garden shows creating gardens of herbs at The Chelsea Show. Harrogate and Malvern Show to name but a few.

He gave a splendid talk and showed films to members, which went very well. This was followed by questions from members. A vote of thanks was given by Tony Smith.

The Giuld holds meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at The Community Centre in Enville Road Wall Heath.

On May 3 there will be a cookery demonstration by Bridget Bradley followed by a fish and chip supper. On June 7 a talk will be given by Howard Drury about Dublin and County Wicklow Gardens.

To any member of the public who may wish to enter The Annual Wall Heath Show on September 10 at 2.15pm is welcome to do so. A program will be available soon from chairman Amanda Ridney 01384 287480

New members are always welcome to visit at any guild evening where refreshments are always serve. Otherwise becoming a member of this organisation costs just a very small fee.
