FUTURE footballing stars in Wall Heath are getting professional backing after Kewford Mini Eagles joined forces with the West Bromwich Albion Foundation.

Now in its 18th season, the thriving youth coaching sessions have recently re-started once again for year 1 pupils.

And to mark their partnership with the Albion Foundation, who are providing Kewford with professional coaches to deliver the programme, the youngsters were delighted when the Albion’s mascot Baggie Bird paid a visit to Eagle Park.

As well as having photos with the young players, Baggie Bird also agreed to go in goal for a penalty shoot-out.

Lee Small, club chairman, said: “We are very pleased with the partnership we are forging with the the Albion Foundation and the high class level of coaching and guidance they are giving our next batch of Kewford Eagles superstars.”

Coaching sessions are held at the Swindon Road-based venue on Saturday mornings from 9.30am until 11am.
