Chairman Jean Latham welcomed 50 members and two visitors to the February meeting. She then read out the list of apologies.

The secretary then presented the minutes of the last meeting, which were duly passed and signed.

The treasurer continued with a favourable account of the finances and reminded members that the annual subscription of £27 is due and should be paid either before or on the evening of the March meeting, which incorporates the AGM.

Only current members should attend this meeting. Sub-section leaders then reported that their respective groups, namely floral art, arts and crafts, tea and talents and ramblers, were all well attended.

A visit to Hagley Hall at 2.30 on June 2 has been arranged. Numbers for this visit are limited and a board is in circulation for those interested.

The cost is £10 which includes light refreshments.

The annual dinner has been booked for May 6 at Stone Manor, near Kidderminster, starting at 7pm for 7.30pm. The cost is £20 and members should see Sue Ward for further details. A board is in circulation for those interested in attending the St George’s Day event organised by Federation at Wollaston Village Hall on April 23. The speaker for the evening was Bernard Mills, who, with the aid of slides, gave an insight into the Kays of Worcester catalogue. The company, which has always operated in the Worcester area, has been in existence for over 200 years. The slides showed versions of the catalogues through the ages and it was interesting to see the various fashions of the times, and indeed how some of them returned.

On this occasion there was no competition.

Raffle prizes for the evening went to Gwyneth Rudge and Enid Lambert. The next meeting, incorporating the AGM, is on March 11. There is no competition.
