In the absence of chairman, Jean Latham, vice chairman, Hazel Needham welcomed 56 members to the March meeting which incorporated the AGM.

Apologies were given, after which secretary Sue Ward read the minutes of the last meeting, which were duly passed.

The treasurer then gave a favourable report of the accounts, pointing out that no increase in subscription would be necessary for next year.

Sue Ward then read an annual report on all sections, namely floral art, arts and crafts, teas and talents, ramblers, luncheon club and bowls.

All officers and committee members agreed to stand for a further year, and the chairman thanked these ladies for their efforts over the past year.

A thank you card had been received from Jean Millward, for the good wishes expressed during her recent illness.

The highly competitive bowls competition shield was presented to Jill Perry who triumphed over seventeen rivals.

The competition cup was presented to the winner, new member, Elizabeth Grove.

Business over the annual general beetle drive got underway and after much banter and mirth, the meeting was brought to order by Jill Dunn.

Many prizes were won.

There was no speaker or competition this evening. Raffle prizes went to Brenda Adkin and Janet Tomkins.

The next meeting is at 7.30pm on April 8 in St James’s Church Hall, Wollaston. Non members are most welcome.
