POLICE have confirmed a man suffered a suspected heart attack after an alleged assault following a road crash in Wollaston yesterday (Thursday).

The incident saw police alerted to a two-car smash on Wollaston Island at 1.55pm.

Paramedics were then called to the car park where Bridgnorth Road meets Meriden Avenue at around 2.15pm after West Midlands Ambulance Service received reports that a man in his 60s was feeling unwell.

West Midlands Police said the man, the driver of one of the cars, suffered a suspected heart attack and was taken to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley in a critical condition.”

Part of the road was cordoned off for a forensic examination and traffic was diverted – and a man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
