The members held their AGM at Stourbridge Institute on February 16 which was chaired by vice chairman Adam Greathead. He opened the meeting by welcoming both existing, new members and visitors.
The president Eric Southall addressed the meeting and said the guild had enjoyed another very successful year, highlights being the presidents plant sale, which raised funds for the West Midlands Air Ambulance, the annual show, and various social events including day trips. He also extended his thanks to the numerous members who work throughout the year in the background helping to make the Guild the success that it is. Liz Hathway announced that the Guild had once again won the Morgan Shield Quiz competition. All the officers were re-elected en block, and following a ballot Adam Greathead was elected chairman, and John Knight was elected vice chairman. He thanked John Knight for his three years in office, and said John had done a great job, and had added more than a touch of humour to the roll. Adam said that he hoped he would be as successful, and looked forward to the next three years.
The next meeting will be held on March 16 at the Stourbridge Institute at 7 for 7.30pm.This will be a talk on growing vegetables by a representative of The National Vegetable Society.
