Last month’s meeting commenced with a short presentation by the chairman on his reserve of the month, Hunthouse Wood near Mamble. He was followed by our speaker for the evening, Mike Brooks who, after some initial technical problems, gave us a really interesting and very well illustrated talk on the Geopark Way.

There is now a break in our indoor meetings for the summer (hopefully we’ll have one!) but there is a full programme of outdoor meetings commencing with a walk lead by the reserve warden Nick Benbow in the previously mentioned Hunthouse Wood reserve on May 9. The walk starts at 2pm and further details can be obtained by calling Avril Williams on 01384 371064. Donations are welcome.

Our June 6 commences at 2pm, from the Blackstone Rock car park, Bewdley, and is entitled Rocks and Reserves. This will be lead by Sue and Andy Duffield and will encompass the geological, natural and World War’s history of the area.

There is a charge of £3 for this walk and as places are limited booking is essential so please ring Sue and Andy on 01384 822328 for more details and to reserve your place.
