STOURBRIDGE drinkers will find themselves spoilt for choice with watering holes to visit thanks to the creation of a new Stumbleground map.

It depicts a selection of Stourbridge pubs that have been mapped out in true underground fashion.

The creator is charity champion Karl Jones who hit upon the idea when he spotted an artist in London doing something similar with star constellations.

Karl has since had the maps printed as postcards and posters and is busy selling them to raise funds for Mary Stevens Hospice.

He said: "The map has worked out much better than I thought. I know I've missed a few pubs off, but I had to draw the line somewhere."

The Stumbleground is the latest fundraising idea from Karl, a children's nurse who lives in Western Road in Stourbridge's Old Quarter.

He has already tried abseiling and sky diving to raise cash for charity.

Karl also dishes out free books at his local pub The Longlands Tavern each year on World Book Night to promote reading among adults.

He added: "I've had this idea of the Stumbleground lurking at the back of my mind for some time now and it's proving really popular.

"I've already sold between 20 to 30 postcards and a number of A3 size maps to the point where I will need to have some more printed to meet demand.

"I'm also intending to have the map printed on mugs and tea towels as well."

Stourbridge News:

Karl doesn't intend to rest on his laurels. He's also planning a similar style map for local curry houses as well.
