FOLK duo Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston are set to bring the tour of their new album to Stourbridge this month.

Songs from the pair’s new release ‘The Watchmaker’s Wife’ will be performed live at Stourbridge Folk Club at Katie Fitzgeralds on Thursday, March 24.

The album, although not a parable of their personal lives, has been described as a reflective, powerful and moving collection of tales of love and loss.

Some of the tracks are original, with very modern arrangements, while some are covers with a vibrant, immediate and edgy feel.

The striking combination of a flame headed double bass player and virtuoso mandolin player create music that fRoots magazine call: “A musical partnership made in heaven. Scintillating, sensitive and brilliant.”

Tickets to the gig, which starts at 8pm, cost £11, and can be bought by calling 01384 485238, or visiting www.stourbridgefolkclub.com or www.wegottickets.com/event/304501
