Wollaston Gardeners Guild

The members held their monthly meeting at Stourbridge Institute on May 16 which was chaired by Adam Greathead. He opened the meeting by welcoming both existing, new members, visitors, and the speaker for the night Diane Clements.

The president Eric Southall addressed the meeting and said how pleased he was with the amount and quality of the plants brought along for the presidents plant sale on May 14/15, and thanked all members who had provided them, the people who helped with the event, and those who came and purchased. All proceeds to McMillan Nurses.

The speaker for the evening Diane Clements whose talk entitled "A garden for all seasons" her garden is in fact half a mile from Molineux on the main road and faces north, with challenging slopes. Her slides were excellent and she has a plant in flower every day of the year which was her aim.

Adam thanked Graham for a most interesting talk, and the members responded in the usual manner.

The first prize winners in the monthly show where as follows: 1 - Spring Cabbage Martin Grice; 3 - Sticks Rhubarb David Castle; 8 - Spring Onions B James; 1 - Vase Spring Flowers Una Langley; 1 - Chocolate Sponge Una Langley; 6 - Pieces Flapjack David Castle.

Adam closed the meeting, wished everyone a safe journey home, and hoped everyone had enjoyed the evening.

The next meeting will be held on June 20 which will be a shared supper and entertainment by Rob Pitt who will be performing 'Golden Oldies'
