AN award-winning Wollaston hair salon is now offering wig cutting and advice to anyone with medical hair loss.

The Hair Surgery in Meriden Avenue, owned by Tim Scott-Wright, is now part of the mynewhair charity salon network – Salons that Care.

Tim Scott-Wright, owner of The Hair Surgery, said: "“I am absolutely delighted that we are now part of this amazing network of salons.

"This is a fantastic charity and I think the service is incredibly important.

"We have long been supporters of Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer Charity and have often been asked to help patients get better styling of their wigs.”

He added: "Often wigs provided are cut in a very general way and not for specifically for the wearer. This unfortunately can mean that it is obvious it is a wig and can make hair loss sufferers feel self conscious.

"Through careful and sensitive consultation and bespoke cutting and styling a wig to suit the wearer it can be transformed, making it look more like natural hair and less obvious to others and more pleasurable to wear."

Senior stylist Joanne Hayes will be the mynewhair expert within the salon - offering bespoke cutting and styling of wigs - having completed her intensive training with the charity which was founded by celebrity hair stylist Trevor Sorbie MBE.
