Wollaston E Townswomen's Guild

The March meeting which incorporated the AGM, was attended by 42 members with Julie Willetts in the chair. The apologies list was read after which, secretary Sue Ward presented the minutes of the last meeting which was signed as a true record.

The nominations for officers and committee were read with the inclusion of two new committee members, namely Ann Turner and Gill McKenzie.

Treasurer Margaret Gregory then gave a favourable account of the finances and it was agreed to continue with the usual auditor.

The Guild's local rules were read by Hazel Needham and their adoption was proposed and seconded.

The chairman thanked everyone for their help during her first year in office and declared that she was enthusiastically looking forward to an interesting coming year. The shield for winner of the bowls competition was presented to Ann Turner, followed by the competition cup to Elizabeth Grove. Jean Dunne and Ann McKenzie were presented with long service certificates and badges for 25 years commitment to the guild and retiring committee members, Sue Llewellyn and Pat Steele received gifts in appreciation of their service.

After a short refreshment break, we enjoyed a most interesting presentation on organ donation by Dr Julian Sonksen from the organ donation team at Russell's Hall Hospital.

A board will be in circulation for names of members wishing to attend the annual dinner at Hagley Golf and Country Club on May 16.

Raffle prizes went to Hazel Needham, Jean Lloyd Jones and Elizabeth Grove. Finally, the chairman thanked Sandra Oliver, Elizabeth Grove and Gill McKenzie for serving the refreshments.
