A WOLLASTON artist turned author is back with a new comedy novel after a four-year break.

Professional artist, cartoonist and speaker Geoff Tristram first began entertaining comedy fans with a series of laugh-out loud, locally-set novels about madcap artist David Day - before he began publishing a collection of comic reads about hapless writer Adam Eve.

His latest, however, combines both crazy characters and sees them unite to solve a mystery of Shakespearian proportions.

The new book, entitled A Remarkable Chain of Events, sees an incredible series of seemingly interconnected events unfold after Adam Eve finds a cryptic note on his son’s friend who falls asleep on his sofa and fails to wake up.

Discovery of the note sets Adam Eve off on a trail that leads him to a retired academic in Stratford-upon-Avon, who had been hinting to friends that he was on the verge of a ‘life-changing discovery of global importance’.

But after the elderly man suddenly passes away, Adam teams up with local artist and adventurer David Day in a bid to make the discovery of a century - although they must suffer mad professors, comedy hypnotists, assorted art thieves and a plague of field mice on the way.

Geoff, aged 63, of Eggington Road, said: "It gets ever more chaotic with every page."

He urges readers to prepare for "fits of uncontrollable laughter’ when they pick up the book which he said is one of his favourites to date and which has been dubbed an “exceedingly funny, original plot of Shakespearian proportions” by scriptwriter Robert Williams.

Priced £8.99 , the book is available by emailing Geoff - gt@geofftristram.co.uk.
