RIDGEWOOD High School has paid tribute to one its former pupils, Megan Bills, who was found dead at a flat in Dudley on Thursday.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, West Midlands Police have said the body which was found at a property in Highgate Road is strongly believed to be that of the Stourbridge 17-year-old.

Steve Ramsey, headteacher at the Wollaston school, said the “kind and caring” former pupil “always tried to do her best”.

He told the News: “Megan had a great smile and a wonderful giggle. At school she was always kind and caring with the younger students.

“She always tried to do her best to achieve all she did, especially regarding dance and fundraising, be that Red Nose Day or race for life, Megan would always get involved.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time.”

Unemployed Ashley Foster, aged 24, appeared before Dudley magistrates on Monday (May 8) accused of preventing the burial of Megan, without lawful excuse, sometime between April 16 and May 4 this year.

Foster was remanded in custody and will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 5.
