COUNCILLORS approved a plan to replace a mobile phone mast in Wollescote with a new 15-metre pole and equipment.
Dudley's development control committee gave approval on Monday (April 22) to swap the current Vodafone base station and 12.5-metre tower in Wollescote Road with a new 15-metre dual user pole, antennae and radio equipment cabinets for shared use by Vodafone and O2.
Twelve residents submitted letters objecting to the scheme - citing the proximity of the mast to the Wollescote park land setting and grade II listed Wollescote Hall as reasons for refusal - but their concerns were dismissed.
