PEOPLE living in Wollescote have been invited to a meeting to discuss setting up a tenants and residents group in the area.

Dudley Council actively supports and encourages tenants and residents involvement with the running of its estates. Such groups discuss many issues relating to their estates and discuss ideas of how they can help to make improvements to enrich resident’s lives.

The discussion will take place at Wollescote Scout Hut, Queensway, on Tuesday (November 18) at 7pm.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “Anyone who is interested in finding out more about a tenants and residents association for the Wollescote area is welcome to come along to find out more.

“Being a member can be very rewarding as you have a greater involvement in your community, enriching the lives of your neighbours and you can devote as much, or as little, time as you want.”

She continued: “Dudley Council is a community council and we encourage people to get involved in their area. Following consultation with the area we have just had flower beds installed by the Queensway shops area, demonstrating how resident involvement can lead to real results.”

Residents are also reminded to sign up to the community council e-bulletin, by visiting community.council@dudley.gov.uk with their postcode and house number so they can ensure they receive local news from where they live.
