LYE and Stourbridge North councillor Mohammed Hanif will be putting his best foot forward to help support the Well of Life appeal.

The councillor plans to walk the historical boundary of Lye and Wollescote in a bid to raise funds.

He said: "I've been given the route by a local historian - but it's an area I've walked before.

"I will attempt to raise the funds while out canvassing for the General Election, although I'm not planning to do the walk until mid-May when everything has quietened down.

"I've done previous walks for charity and raised over £700 on one occasion."

He plans to start and finish the walk at The Hadcroft pub on New Farm Estate, taking in a route which includes Bagley Street, Mears Coppice, Hayes Lane, Seymour Road and Wollescote Park before returning to The Hadcroft.
