COUNCILLORS have agreed name changes to electoral wards which will take effect before elections in May.
An extraordinary meeting of the full council yesterday (Tuesday March 22) agreed the Cradley and Foxcote ward will be changed to Cradley and Wollescote, while the Lye and Wollescote will become Lye and Stourbridge North ward.
The proposals include changing the names of the wards only and there are no planned alterations to their size or boundaries.
John Polychronakis, chief executive of Dudley Council, said: “The proposed changes will give a better reflection of how the wards are made up and where they sit in the borough.”
The changes were proposed by councillors in both wards and followed a public consultation.
