STOURBRIDGE'S glass visitor attractions will be throwing open their doors this weekend for their annual Christmas Festival.

Broadfield House Glass Museum, in Kingswinford,Wordsley's Red House Glass Cone and Ruskin Glass Centre in Amblecote will offer visitors a range of free activities on Saturday (30 November) and Sunday (1 December).

Santa and Mrs Claus will visit Broadfield House and families can watch glassblowing demonstrations and take part in a children’s trail.

Craft lovers will be delighted with the range of handcrafted items on sale at Red House Glass Cone's Christmas craft market and the site will be open until 9pm on Saturday, allowing shoppers to make the most of the festive atmosphere.

Visitors will be able to buy glass, jewellery, children’s clothing, greetings cards, paintings, plaques, keepsakes, ornaments and cupcakes made by local the cone's designers and artists and take a free self-guided tour of the site and drop by the All I Want for Christmas exhibition.

The made@thecone collective will be hosting open studios, giving people the chance to try their hand at a pottery craft in Saz’s Ceramics.

Over at the Ruskin Glass Centre, there will be craft stalls, open studios and the organic café will be open for business.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “It’s great to see joined up thinking across the Glass Quarter with our two sites, Broadfield and the Cone working with the Ruskin to put on festive activities for all ages.

"The Christmas markets are a great opportunity to find an unique gift, and the friendly atmosphere is sure to get everyone in a festive mood.”
