The May meeting was opened by chairman of the day Wendy Lloyd who welcomed all attending.

The minutes of the previous meeting, prepared by secretary Liz Moseley, were signed and Wendy, on behalf of the treasurer, read the finance report.

Federation – Details were given of the Annual Lunch at The Mill on July 28, a coach trip to the Flower Festival at Hereford Cathedral on September 4, The Harvest Lunch on October 1 at Wollaston Village Hall and a Christmas Workshop at The Ruskin Centre, Wollaston on November 8.

The Guild Lunch Club will meet at the Hollybush, Penn.Monday June 2.

Coffee Morning. Date and place to be arranged.

Theatre Group. Barbara Taylor told members of a theatre outing to the Civic Hall, Brierley Hill. The matinee of The Sound of Music will take place on Wednesday June 4.

A previous speaker, Mr Hook – ‘Mother of Pearl’ - has invited the guild members to visit his factory on June 19 or 26, date to be confirmed.

Wendy then introduced Ray Sturdy whose talk about ‘Witley Court’ was very detailed and most interesting.

Pay Hadley gave the vote of thanks.

All meetings are held at the Wordsley Green Community Centre on the third Monday each month at 10am. Next meeting on June 16 will be a plant sale and music quiz.

Summer programme is - July 21 Pat Green talk on ‘Harvington Hall’ and August 18 Alan Thornton talks about life in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Visitors are especially welcome at these meetings £2.50, members £1, including refreshments.
