WORDSLEY schoolgirl Ellisha Morris has won her way through to the area finals of Open Mic UK after wowing judges with her own composition entitled Forget You.
The 15-year-old will now return to the LG Arena on November 22 to compete against the best in the Midlands and South West England for a place in the national finals.
Ellisha, who sings and plays guitar, was accompanied on piano by Darryl Gayle, musical director of the Dudley based Young Ones pantomine company.
Proud mum Christina said: "Ellisha never expected to get beyond the first round of competition and now looks at the whole event as an experience. She performed in front of a group of judges and an audience in excess of 200.
"She wasn't nervous at all and insisted it was one of the most pleasurable things she's ever done.
"Ellisha and Darryl will now have to decide what to perform in the Area Final, but it will definitely be another of her own compositions."
